Arc-en-ciel Program

The Arc-en-ciel specialized program at our day camp is designed for children ages 5 to 14 who have an intellectual disability, are on the autism spectrum (ASD), or have multiple disabilities. We provide personalized support with 1:1 or 1:2 staff-to-child ratios to meet each camper’s specific needs. Through an inclusive and caring approach, the day camp allows participants to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities in a safe, stimulating environment adapted to their abilities.

Registration Process

Before booking a spot for your child, a file creation process and a needs assessment meeting are required. These steps determine the appropriate support ratio based on each camper’s needs. We strongly recommend beginning the process a few months before the registration period opens. A member of our team will guide you through every step.

Submitting a New Application

For all new registrations to our adapted services (day camp or respite weekends), several administrative steps must be completed.

Please prepare and email the following documents to inscription@mon-camp.ca:

  1. Registration form
  2. Health form
  3. Recent photo of the camper

Once we receive these documents, our team will open your file and schedule the needs assessment meeting with the Assistant Director of Specialized Programs.

This evaluation meeting is essential to ensuring a successful stay. It allows you and your child to visit our facilities, ask questions, and better understand the structure of our camps and respite programs.

Important: The current wait time for a meeting is approximately 5 to 6 weeks. We encourage families to complete the documentation quickly to avoid missing desired program dates.

Once the needs assessment is completed and the personalized ratio determined, your file will be ready. Your email will be added to our mailing list so you receive the program registration calendar as soon as it opens. Spots fill up quickly, so early registration is essential.

Financial Accessibility Program

Thanks to the support of the Paul-Leboeuf Foundation, the Centre Notre-Dame-de-Fatima offers financial assistance so families can access specialized day camp services at the same rate as the neurotypical day camp. This support ensures fair and accessible pricing regardless of a family’s financial situation.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What support ratio will my child (ASD or intellectual disability) receive?
    Icon – Arrow

We offer personalized ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. Your child’s required support ratio will be determined during the needs assessment meeting and visit to the Centre.

Is the staff who will accompany my child properly trained?
    Icon – Arrow

Yes. The Centre Notre-Dame-de-Fatima is proudly certified by the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ), ensuring the highest standards of safety and program quality.

Our counsellors and support staff complete over 50 hours of training before the summer season. Their energy, compassion, and dedication are essential to our mission — they make all the difference for our campers and their families.

Training includes the DAFA certification (Diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur), followed by specialized training related to the client profile, interventions, and the operation of the Arc-en-ciel program.

What are the steps in the registration process for a new camper, and how long should we plan ahead?
    Icon – Arrow

Registration for the Arc-en-ciel program takes place in January. You must open your file several months ahead to complete all required documents and attend the needs assessment meeting and Centre visit.

For more information, contact us at 514-453-7600 ext. 234.

Is the Arc-en-ciel program exclusively for children with special needs, and how do you ensure inclusion and socialization?
    Icon – Arrow

Yes, the Arc-en-ciel program is designed for children ages 5 to 14 who have an intellectual disability or are on the autism spectrum (ASD). We offer specialized 1:1 and 1:2 ratios to provide the support needed for each child’s growth, socialization, and autonomy. The accompanying staff help foster inclusion by adapting activities, facilitating communication, and integrating the camper into their group while respecting their challenges and promoting independence.

Does the Arc-en-ciel program offer childcare outside regular camp hours?
    Icon – Arrow

Yes. Optional childcare is available before camp (7:00–8:45 a.m.) and after camp (3:45–6:00 p.m.). Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with arrival between 8:45 and 9:00 a.m. and pickup between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. for those not using childcare.

What indoor facilities are available during bad weather?

Although most camp activities take place outdoors, we have multiple indoor rooms available to host programming when needed — including on rainy days.
